Letter : Charleston, [S.C.] to General Greene, 1784 April 18.

Pendleton wonders whether Greene has accepted "the troublesome honor of a commissioner to treat with the Indians" and discusses actions of the South Carolina General Assembly regarding confiscations of Loyalist property, taxes, and other matters. Greene plans to go to Georgia for a year or two until he can be allowed to practice law in South Carolina, but has doubts whether the climate of this part of the country is conducive to his health. In a postscript Pendleton mentions his courtship of Mrs. Marshall, "the madman's widow."
